The Woldingham Wine Club celebrated English Wine week on Wednesday 19 June with midsummer drinks and canapes in the vineyard at Woldingham.

Members were joined by vineyard investors, as well as members of staff who’ve used the vineyard as part of this year’s teaching curriculum. This includes Design Technology, whose students hand stamp members’ vine tags and the Geography department who have recently conducted a project with Year 9 students to evaluate the positioning of the vineyard at Woldingham by using soil tests, anemometers and clinometers.

Guests enjoyed walking amongst the vines, hearing about their progress and seeing their own personal Wine Club member vine tags hanging on the rows of vines. 

It was the perfect warm summer evening to celebrate midsummer and the growing success of English wine.
