Thank you to everyone who attended Old Girls’ Day last weekend on Sunday 23 June.
This year we welcomed additional, special guests from Sacred Heart Hammersmith and Sacred Heart Beechwood alongside our own Old Girls.
Sacred Heart Hammersmith had a long-standing, annual tradition where they would charter a train for the whole school to visit Woldingham for the day each summer. Many spoke so fondly of the memories of these visits.
One Woldingham alumna, Siobhan hadn’t been back to school since 1968 and had travelled down from Oxfordshire, another brought along her old photographs dating back to 1974, and another alum Virginia saw the gravestones of her aunt and grandmother in the school cemetery during her tour. Younger generations of Old Girls also attended, like Milan from the class of 2021.
Some guests chose to attend Mass in the chapel at 11am which was live streamed for those who could not attend in person.
The sun shone down on us all whilst we enjoyed our picnics on the Pergola Lawn.
Thanks to our five fantastic Ribbons, Tina, Kira, Clara, Feranmi and Andrea who helped with conducting guided tours of the school grounds before everyone finished off the day with a delicious afternoon tea. The alumnae were so pleased to meet current students and hear about what Woldingham is like today.
As always, a wonderful day filled with nostalgia, love for Woldingham and their treasured memories of the school.
