Parents and staff enjoyed a relaxed and informative evening at our Cheese and Wine Pairing event on Thursday 19th May in the Stephens Room.
Our fantastic guest wine expert for the evening from the Kent Wine School has over 30 years experience in the wine and spirits industry and previously worked as a judge at the Drinks Business Global Masters competitions. He explained how and why pairing certain food and wines can be so successful, as well as advising us on those to avoid.
We explored a fantastic range of 6 different cheese and wine combinations including classic red, white and sweet wines from around the world, with delicious cheeses provided by one of the UK’s best cheesemongers, Cucolo Cheese and Wine in Heathfield. As the evening finished with a final vote on our favourite wines, cheeses and combinations, we all left with a greater knowledge of wine pairing, whilst looking forward to exploring even more at the next Woldingham Community wine club event.
